Policy builder

Ten questions, then a policy

01 of 10

What kind of setting is this policy for?

This mostly decides pupil use, because the age limits on consumer AI tools settle most of it for you.

No AI writes any of this. Every sentence comes from a fixed clause library (version 1.0), so the same answers always give the same policy, word for word. Your answers stay in your browser and in the link.

Data protection

Does your school need a DPIA for AI tools?

Almost certainly, if the tool touches personal data about pupils or staff. The legal test in plain English, the seven steps with a worked example, and who should actually hold the pen.

What “sorted” looks like

Every regulator asks for the same five things in different words. That is the whole mountain.

  1. 01

    A register

Which AI tools are approved, for whom, and for what.

  2. 02

    A policy

One that answers real staff-room questions in plain English.

  3. 03

    Completed checks

DPIAs and vendor questions for tools that touch personal data.

  4. 04

    Training records

Proof that staff and pupils have been taught.

  5. 05

    Review dates

So the whole thing stays alive as the guidance moves.
