About

Written from inside the job.

Most of what schools are handed about AI is written by people who have never run an exam series, completed a census, or answered a parent at 4:45 on a Friday. It is thorough, well referenced, and no use at all at 8 o'clock on a Tuesday. This site is the other kind: the documents and explanations one person actually needed, written down properly so nobody else has to start from a blank page.

Everything here follows the same rules. Guides say what the source documents say, in plain English, with the dates and section numbers kept to the notes. Templates are editable, versioned and honest about what your school has to decide for itself. And when the guidance moves, the pages move, with the review date changed in the open.

Free means free. Nothing is behind a login or an email wall: every guide, template and the policy builder work without one, and an account, if you want one, only keeps your work. There is no consultancy waiting at the end of a funnel. Schools run on borrowed documents; these are simply better ones to borrow.

The rules this site keeps

  1. Free and ungated.

Every guide and template, without an email address. CC BY-NC-SA, so trusts can adapt and share.

    Guides Templates Licence

  2. Plain English first.

Readable by a head, a governor or a business manager without legal training. The citations live in the notes.

    Glossary

  3. No AI inside the tools.

The policy builder assembles fixed, human-written clauses. You can read every sentence it will ever produce.

  4. Checked at the source.

Nothing goes up until it has been read against the document it describes, and the date it was checked stays on the page.
