Accessibility statement

What we aim for, how we tested, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

What we aim for #

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, as a floor rather than a target. That means, in practice, that you should be able to:

  • zoom to 400 per cent without losing content or having to scroll sideways;
  • use the whole site, including the policy builder and search, with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus on every link and button;
  • use a screen reader, with one heading structure per page, labels on every form field and text alternatives on every image that carries meaning;
  • turn off motion in your device settings and see none here;
  • print any guide or one-pager cleanly on A4.

How accessible the site is #

Tested on [date] with [how: automated checks, a keyboard-only pass, and screen readers on [platforms]]. Known issues: [none known / list]. The Word templates use real headings and tables; the PDFs are [tagged for screen readers: confirm].

Tell us #

If any page or file does not work for you, write to hello@schoolaigovernance.co.uk with the page address and what happened. We aim to reply within [five working days] and to fix what we can; if a file cannot be made accessible quickly, we will send you the content another way.

About this statement #

This site is an independent publication, not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to it. We hold ourselves to the same standard anyway, because the people who use this site do. Statement prepared [date]; reviewed with each new edition of the guidance.
